DIY Flower Arrangements

MIX & MATCH
Twigs, leaves, subtle, bright -  a little bit of each can come together to make a really interesting look. When trying to spruce up my apartment for a party, I typically pick up 4 or 5 different flowers, and mix and match them in different vases. When I scatter the vases throughout the space, they create a dynamic element while still matching at the same time. Don’t be afraid to bring home a combination of different looking flowers. When you trim them, mix them together and put them in a vase, they will look better than you think.

If you are interested in making your own floral arrangements to decorate your home or table for an event, there are a few tips and tricks to make your flowers look beautiful. Many stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods sell great bouquets that can be pieced together to make a stunning arrangement. In NYC, I like browsing bodegas as I walk by, because they often have unique florals in stock that I can combine with more traditional flowers from other stores.
