Indoor/Outdoor Grilling
Grilling season is upon us, and if you live in an apartment with limited or no outdoor space, and/or have restrictions on charcoal grills - all hope is not lost! Years ago, I ordered this George Foreman indoor/outdoor electric grill from Amazon, and still use it to this day. I leave the grill outside every winter, and know I can count on it to fire up as good as new as soon as the good weather hits! In addition to classic burgers and hot dogs, this grill is perfect for cooking vegetables, fish, chicken, steaks, etc. I have used it to cook bacon for a rooftop breakfast taco party, and have used it to grill street corn at a taco party. I have used it for summer night dinners for two, and have even used it inside my apartment in winter. Though I would love to have a large charcoal grill, it isn’t in the cards for many New Yorkers- and this contraption does a great job getting us by!
The Burger:
Recipe for an insanely good Prime Angus Beef Burger is linked here. My philosophy with burgers is that if you are actually going to eat one, do it right. Do not deprive yourself of the extra slice of cheese, do not skimp out on the mayo, and do not forget to butter the buns before you grill them. The BEST tip is right before you cook the beef, insert 1 large ice cube into the middle of each patty. This will make your burgers juicy!
